我的現代舞作(zuò)品形成于去(qù)記錄當地的戲劇(jù)院一個項目。與蘇格蘭的舞蹈劇(jù)院和現代舞學校(xiào)一起工(gōng)作(zuò)，照(zhào)片的拍(pāi)攝時間、活動範圍和描繪的情感都(dōu)是在一個有限的空間内。
蘇格蘭舞蹈劇(jù)院的藝術(shù)總監爲近期的展覽寫了一段話(huà)：“Roy的作(zuò)品凝聚和提煉了舞蹈的意義和情感，但(dàn)是也創造了屬于其作(zuò)品本身(shēn)的動感和瞬間”。編舞說(shuō)過這些作(zuò)品如(rú)實表現了他(tā)們想要在舞台上所想要表現的，即使眼睛并不能通過這種方式看(kàn)到。
My Photographs of Contemporary Dance developed from a project documenting the local Repertory Theatre. Working with the Scottish Dance Theatre and the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, the photographs explore time, movement and the portrayal of emotions within a controlled space.
The Artistic Director of Scottish Dance Theatre writing in the introduction to a recent exhibition :
“Roy’s photography condenses and distils meaning and feeling from the dance and yet creates its own sense of movement and moment.”
While choreographers have said that the photographs show what they try to create on stage, although the eye cannot see it in this way.

Roy Robertson, HonFRPS, 皇家攝影協會的前主席，曾在歐洲，美國，中國，澳大(dà)利亞和英國展出其作(zuò)品。他(tā)的關于現代舞的書(shū)籍《Il Segno e la Danza》已經在米蘭出版，書(shū)中配有大(dà)量圖片及詩歌。他(tā)是一位建築師(shī)，現居住在蘇格蘭東海岸。

Roy was, until recently, President of The Royal Photographic Society. He has exhibited his photographs and conducted workshops in Europe, the USA, China and Australia as well as in the UK. His book on Contemporary Dance, “Il Segno e la Danza” with poems based on the images, was published in Milan. An Architect, he lives on the East Coast of Scotland.
